Our Services

Morning Gathering

Sunday , 11am

Morningside Baptist Church

580 Miles Patrick Rd Winder, GA 30680

Expect a relaxed, friendly church atmosphere. You will probably be welcomed by several people! Worship is traditional, consisting mainly of hymns from a hymnal with piano accompaniment. The Sunday 11am service is around an hour; other services are briefer. Sermons and messages are based in the Bible and not contrary to it, and may be structured verse-by-verse, or topically. Some wear suits, ties, and dresses. Others attending are more casual. We are concerned about loving & growing in Christ, loving others, & sharing the Gospel than we are with your attire.

Sunday and Wednesday Night Services

Wednsday, 6:00 pm - Sunday, 6:00 pm

Morningside Baptist Church

580 Miles Patrick Rd Winder, GA 30680

Beginning Nov 4th, 2020, we are restarting our Wednesday night fellowship meal at 5:45pm, followed by adults' & children's activities at 6:30pm. There is no cost for the meal, but donations are welcome. For October 21st & 28th, we will have a 6pm adults' Bible study. All Wednesday night events are held in the fellowship hall. Enter from the back of the building - the white door under the awning.

Sunday 6pm services are relaxed and casual. We sing two to three hymns together, and then one of our members brings a message from the Bible, either a topical study or verse-by-verse. Afterwards, we enjoy a time of fellowship together with snacks.

Sunday School

Sunday, 10:00 am

Morningside Baptist Church

580 Miles Patrick Rd Winder, GA 30680

Sunday school meets at 10-10:50am each Sunday, with a group each for children, men, and women. The women meet in the sanctuary (main room); children meet downstairs in classrooms; & men currently meet downstairs in the fellowship hall. We focus on Bible & Christian life topics, & we encourage discussion. This is a great way to supplement your personal study and enjoy meaningful fellowship with others attending. We seek to be Biblically focused, have fun, and use what we learn to inform our Christian lives.

Upcoming Events

Serving & Sharing

October 10th and 17th

Men's and Women's Breakfast

Men's Breakfast will be held on October 10th. The Women's Breakfast will be held on October 17th. These events are times to enjoy great food, great company, and a Bible-based message encouraging some aspect(s) of your Christian life. These events are casual, informal, fun ways to connect with others and supplement your own Bible reading. Come hungry, both physically & spiritually, and enjoy the study with others!

October 11th

Communion AM Service

Jesus teaches His followers to remember His death on our behalf, commemorating it by taking bread & juice. These symbolically represent His body which was broken on our behalf, and His blood which cleanses us from sin and establishes the New Covenant. All persons who have personally chosen to follow Jesus Christ as Savior & Master are invited to participate

October 30th

We want to give families something fun, familiar, & safe to enjoy during this most unusual year. Starting at 6pm, park in the front where directed, and kiddos can go around from vehicle to vehicle for candy. Please do follow parking & flow-of-foot-traffic directions as we are expecting a large turnout, and your safety is important to us.

We believe it's important for our church to know what we value and understand the vision for our future.

Vision: Being & Building Disciples of Jesus Christ.

Mission: Morningside will be a church helping people to love & honor God & others, reach out with the Gospel, make a positive community impact, and develop the next generation and leaders.

We value understanding & applying the Scriptures to our lives. (John 14:15, 14:23-24; 15:4-5; 17:17; Colossians 1:9-12, 2:6-7; 2 Peter 3:18)

We value grace. Grace is God’s unmerited favor (Ephesians 2:8-9), His power at work in us (1 Corinthians 15:10; Philippians 2:13), His faithfulness to us in life (Hebrews 13:5-6), and His love poured out in sending His Son to die for us (John 3:16; Titus 3:3-7). In short, it is His attitude & actions towards His people. We want to be people constantly changed by His grace.

We value diversity so we invite all types of people to know & grow in the Lord Jesus. (1 Corinthians 12:12-13; Galatians 3:27-28). We value people so we seek to connect. (Matthew 22:36-40; 28:19-20; Galatians 6:10).

We value the next generation, so we teach them God’s truths and uphold standards that honor God. (Deuteronomy 6:6-7, 11:19; Ephesians 6:1-4)

We value God’s design of men and women as biologically born. (Genesis 1:26-27, 5:2). We value marriage as God’s institution between one male and one female, together for life. (Genesis 1:26-27, 2:24-25; Ephesians 5:22-33)

We value God’s design for the leadership of governing of His churches. (1 Timothy 3:1-13; 2 Timothy 1:6; Titus 1:5-9)

We value standards of conduct & belief for Christian people (Matthew 18:15-17; Galatians 6:1).

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.

Colossians 2:6-7
